At the Winery
Winery
Xanadu was established by Dr John Lagan and his wife Eithne in 1977. The winery is named after the visionary setting of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem Kubla Khan. Xanadu was acquired in 2005 by the Rathbone family.
Located at Wallcliffe, Xanadu's vineyards flourish in Margaret River's maritime climate, sheltered by forests of marri trees. The Lagan and Boodjidup Vineyards are at the winery; their most recent acquisition, the Stevens Road Vineyard, is just three kilometres away. Surrounded by ocean on three sides Xanadu has warm growing seasons with cooling sea breezes. Xanadu employs precision viticulture with calibrated irrigation, soil profiling and canopy management techniques. Guided by winemaker Glenn Goodall they let the vineyards do the talking.
Xanadu's flagship Reserve range features their signature varieties, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The premium Stevens Road range, also offering a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, is followed by the DJL range.
